From Murchison Falls, the journey continues to Kibale National Park, famous for its large population of chimpanzees and other primates. Here, you will trek through the rainforest in search of chimpanzees before continuing to Queen Elizabeth National Park.
In Queen Elizabeth, enjoy game drives across the savannah and a boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel, known for its large concentration of hippos, crocodiles and water birds.
The final part of the safari takes you to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, home to the endangered mountain gorillas. Detailed 9-Day Itinerary
Day 1: Entebbe/Kampala to Murchison Falls National Park
Your 9-day Uganda gorilla, chimpanzee and wildlife safari begins with an early morning pickup from your hotel in Kampala or Entebbe. After breakfast, drive northwards towards Murchison Falls National Park. The journey takes you through Uganda’s countryside, with opportunities to enjoy views of local communities, farms and changing landscapes.
Depending on your departure time, you may have lunch en route before continuing towards the park. Enter Murchison Falls National Park and proceed to your lodge for check-in, dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Murchison Falls Game Drive & Nile Boat Cruise
Wake up early for breakfast before heading out for a morning game drive in Murchison Falls National Park. The northern sector of the park offers excellent opportunities to see elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, hartebeest, Uganda kob, antelopes and, with luck, lions and leopards.
Return to the lodge for lunch and relaxation. In the afternoon, embark on a boat cruise along the Victoria Nile towards the base of Murchison Falls. The cruise provides excellent opportunities to see hippos, crocodiles, elephants and numerous water birds along the riverbanks.
At the bottom of the falls, watch as the Nile is forced through a narrow gorge before plunging downstream.
Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Murchison Falls – Top of the Falls – Kibale National Park
After breakfast, visit the Top of Murchison Falls, where you can appreciate the incredible power of the Nile as it squeezes through a narrow gorge.
After the visit, begin your journey southwards towards Kibale Forest National Park. This is a long but scenic drive through rural Uganda. Along the way, you will see plantations, villages, tea-growing areas and the beautiful landscapes surrounding Fort Portal. Arrive in the Kibale area later in the day and check into your lodge.

Day 4: Chimpanzee Tracking in Kibale Forest
Today is dedicated to one of Uganda’s most exciting primate experiences: chimpanzee tracking in Kibale Forest. After breakfast, proceed to the park headquarters for a briefing from the Uganda Wildlife Authority rangers before entering the forest.
Kibale is renowned for its remarkable primate diversity, and the chimpanzee tracking experience takes you deep into the rainforest in search of habituated chimpanzee communities. You may also encounter other forest species such as red-tailed monkeys, black-and-white colobus monkeys and various bird species. After the trek, return to your lodge for lunch and relaxation.
You can optionally enjoy a Bigodi Wetland/Sanctuary nature walk in the afternoon, depending on your interests and available time.

Day 5: Kibale to Queen Elizabeth National Park – Game Drive
After breakfast, depart Kibale and drive towards Queen Elizabeth National Park. The journey takes you through the beautiful landscapes of western Uganda, including crater lakes and rolling hills.
Upon arrival, proceed for an afternoon game drive, depending on your arrival time. Queen Elizabeth National Park is famous for its diverse wildlife, including elephants, buffaloes, Uganda kob, warthogs, hippos and numerous bird species.
You may also explore the Kasenyi Plains, one of the park’s popular wildlife-viewing areas. Continue to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 6: Queen Elizabeth National Park – Game Drive & Kazinga Channel Cruise
Begin the day with a morning game drive in Queen Elizabeth National Park. Your guide will search for wildlife across the savannah, with opportunities to encounter elephants, buffaloes, antelopes, lions and other species.
Return to your lodge for lunch. In the afternoon, enjoy one of the highlights of the safari: a boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel.
The channel connects Lake George and Lake Edward and is famous for its large concentration of hippos and other wildlife along the shoreline. The cruise also offers excellent birdwatching opportunities.
After the cruise, return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 7: Queen Elizabeth – Ishasha Sector – Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
After breakfast, depart Queen Elizabeth National Park and travel towards the southern Ishasha sector. If road and park conditions allow, enjoy a game drive through Ishasha, an area particularly known for its famous tree-climbing lions.
Continue towards Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, home to Uganda’s endangered mountain gorillas. The journey takes you through some of Uganda’s most spectacular scenery, with rolling hills, forests and local communities.
Arrive in the Bwindi area and check into your lodge. Relax and prepare for the following day’s gorilla trekking adventure.

Day 8: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
Today is the highlight of your 9 Days Uganda Gorilla, Chimp & Wildlife Experience. After an early breakfast, proceed to the park headquarters for registration and a briefing by the Uganda Wildlife Authority ranger guides.
You will then enter the ancient Bwindi Impenetrable Forest in search of a habituated mountain gorilla family. The trek can take several hours depending on the location of the gorillas and the terrain. Once you locate the gorilla family, you will have a precious opportunity to observe them in their natural habitat.
After the gorilla experience, return from the forest and transfer back to your lodge for relaxation and lunch.
The afternoon can be spent relaxing at the lodge or enjoying optional cultural activities, depending on your interests and available time.

Day 9: Bwindi – Entebbe/Kampala
After breakfast, begin your journey back towards Kampala or Entebbe. Enjoy the scenic drive through southwestern Uganda, with a lunch stop along the way.
Depending on your flight schedule, you may arrive in Entebbe in the late afternoon or evening. Your guide will transfer you to Entebbe International Airport for your departure, marking the end of your 9-day Uganda gorilla, chimpanzee and wildlife safari.
